4th of July on the 1950s

My parents moved to Fairborn at the end of WW II and we remained there until the 70's.

My father operated the Homestead Restaurant, now Tickets, from 1946 to 1959. All of the kids attended Fairborn Schools from 1946 to 1972.

The Homestead was where  Tickets is now and the ENL was across the street, I think between the old Fairborn Department Store and Moore's Hardware.  I believe when the ENL went out of business Kaiser's shoes moved in.  In the early to mid fifties the Homestead had Kendig's Department Store and the First National Bank on one side, and Grimes Hardware (they might be related to the current Ace Hardware) and Fink's furniture on the other.  Carl Fink used to also write a newspaper column called "Fink Thinks".  My oldest sister is in Xenia where they have operated Skydive Greene County since the mid 60's.  I currently live near Enon and no, we are not related to the current owners.  Bootsie is in the Columbus Area and Alethea is in Southern Ohio.  The rest of us are scattered from Arizona to Florida.
